Bead Size and Wrist Size Are Different

Bead size refers to the diameter of each bead. An 8mm bead measures approximately 8 millimetres across; a 10mm bead measures approximately 10 millimetres across.

Wrist size is the measurement around your wrist, which helps you choose a bracelet that fits comfortably.

You can choose smaller or larger beads for the same wrist measurement. First decide on the look you prefer, then select the appropriate fit using our Size Guide.

8mm Beads: An Understated Everyday Look

8mm beads offer a noticeable crystal bracelet with a relatively subtle profile.

They are a good choice if you prefer a bracelet that blends easily into your everyday outfits or leaves room for other pieces on your wrist.

Consider 8mm if you enjoy:

  • A smaller, more understated bead size

  • Wearing your bracelet alongside a watch or another bracelet

  • A simple finishing touch for everyday outfits

10mm Beads: More Visual Presence

10mm beads give each crystal more space to be seen, making its colour, translucency and individual details more prominent.

The difference is only 2mm in diameter, but 10mm beads are 25% larger in diameter than 8mm beads, so the change is more noticeable on the wrist than the numbers may suggest.

Consider 10mm if you enjoy:

  • Larger, more prominent beads

  • Wearing one bracelet as the main detail on your wrist

  • A closer view of the crystals’ individual character

8mm vs 10mm at a Glance

8mm beads

A more understated look that is easy to combine with a watch or other bracelets. A good starting point if you prefer smaller jewellery and a subtle everyday detail.

10mm beads

A more prominent look that stands out when worn alone. A good starting point if you enjoy larger beads and want the crystals’ individual details to be more visible.

Neither size is limited to a particular wrist size or gender. A smaller wrist can wear larger beads, and a larger wrist can wear smaller beads. Your preferred proportions matter more than a fixed rule.

How Other Bead Sizes Compare

The wider comparison below shows 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm beads together.

Moving from smaller to larger beads makes the bracelet appear fuller and more prominent. This helps put the difference between 8mm and 10mm into context.

Lychee Vibes currently focuses on 8mm and 10mm beads. The other sizes shown below are included only as a visual reference.

Images are visual references, not an actual-size ruler. Camera angle, screen size and the wearer’s wrist can affect how large the beads appear. Sizes shown for comparison may not be available for every design.

Which Size Should You Choose?

Choose 8mm if you prefer a lighter, more understated look or like wearing your bracelet alongside a watch or other pieces.

Choose 10mm if you want the crystals to have more visual presence and prefer wearing the bracelet as a focal piece.

There is no “correct” size. A smaller wrist can wear larger beads, and a larger wrist can wear smaller beads. Choose the look you prefer first, then select the appropriate bracelet fit for your wrist.

Still unsure? 8mm is the more understated choice; 10mm is the more expressive one.

The intention you choose stays yours. Bead size simply gives you another way to make the bracelet feel personal.
